Цели урока:

1. Введение страноведческой информации по теме «Олимпийские игры».

2. Закрепление навыков аудирования по теме «Спорт».

3. Совершенствование лексических навыков и навыков чтения.

Оборудование: задание на карточке «Соотнеси предложение» по количеству учащихся; жетоны для игры «Назови рифму».

Ход урока

I. Организационный момент

— Good afternoon, boys and girls. It’s a lovely day today, isn’t it?

— How are you?

— Who is absent?

— Who is on duty today?

— Who can tell me what day it is today?

II. Активизация лексических навыков

— Do you like to play? I want you to play my favourite game.

Игра «Назови рифму»

Учитель называет слово, ученики должны подобрать рифму к этому слову. Ученик, назвавший слово, получает жетон. Учитель обращает внимание учащихся на необходимость использования слов по теме «Спорт».

— Kate. (Skate.)

— We. (Ski.)

— Scream. (Team)

— May. (Play)

— Bought. (Court)

— Face. (Race.)

— Brought. (Sport.)

— Ticket. (Cricket.)

III. Активизация материала рассказа (устное домашнее задание)

— You will match the parts of the sentences from the story about a water polo game, the players and the crocodile. You will have two minutes to do the task. Who is ready to read the first sentence?

Учитель предлагает ученикам вспомнить рассказ из устного домашнего задания и выполнить задание на карточках. Сначала учащиеся в течение 2 минут соотносят части предложений из заданий А и В, а затем зачитывают полученные предложения по цепочке вслух.

Примерное задание на карточке:

Match the parts of the sentences:

A) This happened in Australia...

It was one of the main...

There was nothing exciting...

But suddenly one of the players said that a forward...

The referee thought it was a joke...

Soon two other players jumped out of...

The game was stopped and...

Everyone saw a young crocodile.

IV. Проверка устного домашнего задания. Контроль навыков монологической речи (пересказ текста)

— Work in pairs and listen to the stories you have prepared at home. Who will go to the blackboard and tell us about a water polo game?

Ученики в парах повторяют рассказ (устное домашнее задание) в течение 2—3 минут. Затем учащиеся по очереди выходят к доске и представляют свои рассказы. Учитель может организовать проверку домашнего задания как конкурс рассказчиков, в таком случае лучший рассказчик награждается в конце урока дипломом.

Примерный рассказ:

This happened in Australia during a water polo game. It was one of the main sports events of the season. There was nothing exciting at the beginning of a water polo game. But suddenly one of the players said that a forward from the other team had bitten him in the leg. The referee thought it was a joke and let the player leave the game. Soon two other players jumped out of the water with bites on their legs. The game was stopped and the water was let out of the pool. Everyone saw a young crocodile. It was found out that a fan had put the crocodile into the pool to make the players move faster.

V. Формирование навыков чтения и аудирования по теме «Олимпийские игры»

Учитель привлекает внимание учащихся к информации по теме «Олимпийские игры» из упр. 63, стр. 114. Ученики читают данную информацию про себя и отвечают вслух на вопросы упражнения. Затем учитель предлагает прослушать аудиозапись и проверить свои варианты ответов.

— What do you know about the Olympic Games? Look at the table of exercise 63, page 114 and answer the questions from this exercise. Who will answer the first (second, etc.) question? Listen to the tape and find out if your answers were right.

VI. Физкультминутка

— I see that you are tired. Let’s have a rest.

Учитель разучивает с учащимися новую песенку с движениями.

VII. Введение страноведческой информации по теме «История Олимпийских игр»

— Let’s read the statements from exercise 64, page 114. Do you think that the first (third) statement is true? Is the second (fourth) statement false? We shall read the text from exercise 65, page 115 and find out if you are right.

После выполнения упр. 64, стр. 114 из учебника учитель предлагает детям прочитать текст про себя с целью проверки своих ответов. Второй раз текст читается учащимися вслух по цепочке (каждый ученик читает по 2—3 предложения).

VIII. Проверка понимания прочитанного материала

— We have read the information about Pierre de Coubertin, and now you can answer the questions from exercise 66, page 115. Divide into groups of three and we shall listen to your answers in three minutes.

Ученики отвечают на вопросы из упр. 66, стр. 115 из учебника. Сначала ученики отвечают на данные вопросы в группах по три человека, а затем заслушиваются ответы учащихся перед классом. Время выполнения задания в группах — 3 минуты.

IX. Совершенствование лексических навыков

— The next task for you is exercise 67, page 115. Look through the text and find the words and expressions which have a similar or opposite meaning. This exercise is to be written. Let’s read the sentences with the words in italics in the text and translate them.

Ученики выполняют упр. 67, 68, стр. 115 из учебника. Упр. 67, стр. 115 выполнятся в письменной форме, а упр. 68, стр. 115 — в устной форме.

Keys: упр. 67, стр. 115:

a) Olympics — Olympic Games.
