Ход урока

1. 1) Учащиеся высказывают свои предположения. Можно им помочь, задавая дополнительные вопросы: Is she in a café? Is Tanya in a car (on board of a plane, ship, etc.)? Is Tanya travelling by car (plane, ship, etc.)?

1. 2) Перед прослушиванием учащиеся знакомятся с памяткой. Запись звучит один раз.

Текст для аудирования:

Tanya: Excuse me.

Stewardess: Yes. How can I help you?

Tanya: Can I have another orange juice, please?

Stewardess: Certainly.

Tanya: Hm, without ice, please.

Stewardess: Sure. Here you are. Anything else?

Tanya: Yes. Could you tell me what time we are landing in Heathrow?

Stewardess: At 5.30. Thats in exactly 15 minutes.

Tanya: Oh, have I got enough time to go to the bathroom before we land?

Stewardess: Im sure itll ...

Captain: Attention, ladies and gentlemen. This is Captain Preddy speaking. We will be landing in Heathrow in 15 minutes. All passengers are kindly requested to go back to their seats and to fasten their seat belts. Hope youve enjoyed the flight and thank you for choosing British Airways.

Tanya: Well, I guess thats the answer to my question.

Customs officer: How long are you going to stay in Britain?

Tanya: For three weeks.

Customs officer: And whats the reason for your visit?

Tanya: I am going to do an English course in Oxford. I want to learn some more English. But first Im planning to stay in London for three days to meet my friend.

Customs officer: Have you got any documents from your school?

Tanya: Yes. Here is a copy of all the documents from the school. And this is the address of the family Ill be staying with.

Customs officer: Your English sounds very good.

Tanya: Thanks. Actually, this will be my second language course in Britain.

Customs officer: OK. Here is your passport and your school documents. Enjoy your stay.

Tanya: Thank you. Goodbye.

Customs officer: Goodbye.

Tanya: Hello.

Kurt: Hello, this is Kurt. Is that you, Tanya?

Tanya: Yes, hello, Kurt. I was just about to call you.

Kurt: Really? Ive been thinking about our plans for tomorrow. Do you still feel like taking a day tour around London?

Tanya: Definitely. Thats a fantastic idea. Any suggestions?

Kurt: Actually, Ive got plenty of ideas. Have you thought of anything youd like to do or places youd like to visit?

Tanya: I guess Id be happy to see some sort of exhibition.

Kurt: An exhibition? Have you heard of the Guinness World of Records?

Tanya: Well ...

Kurt: Its actually the famous Guinness Book of Records brought to life. Theyve got everything there: models, videos and life-size exhibits. I think it would be a great start to the day and I bet youll really enjoy it.

Tanya: Sounds fine to me.

Kurt: We could also go to see the Wallace Collection. You know, French art and sculpture of the 17 and 18 centuries. How about that?

Tanya: Id rather go to the Guinness thing.

Kurt: OK. How about popping into St Martin-in-the-Fields later on. Its not very far. Its at the Charing Cross tube station.

Tanya: Isnt it that famous church next to the National Gallery?

Kurt: Thats right. If we are lucky, we may hear some good music there.

Tanya: All right. But I assume by that time wed be ready for a snack.

Kurt: I agree. I know of a great place near there.

Tanya: Great. Well, what time shall we meet then?

Kurt: How about 10 oclock at my place?

Tanya: Great. See you tomorrow.

Kurt: Dont be late! Bye.
