Цель: способствовать развитию навыков чтения, монологической речи и продуктивного письма.

Оборудование: иллюстрации по теме урока.

Ход урока

I. Организационный момент

— Good morning, everyone! (Good morning, teacher!)

II. Актуализация знаний

Проверка домашнего задания

(Учащиеся сдают тетради для письменных работ на проверку. Учитель организует взаимопроверку выполнения заданий в рабочей тетради. Ответы записаны на доске.)

1. Вводная беседа

2. Работа по учебнику

(Ученики повторяют названия стран и зданий за учителем.

— What is so special about these buildings? (They are all very tall buildings.)

The Eiffel Tower is an iconic structure found in Paris, France. It stands at 324 metres tall and is visited by huge numbers of tourists every year. This photo shows the Eiffel Tower set against a blue sky on a beautiful day in Paris.

This photo is taken from the ground looking up at the impressive Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The twin buildings were once the tallest in the world but still remain among the tallest. They reach an incredible 452 metres in height and feature 88 floors.

(Учащиеся читают текст и выделяют прилагательные в превосходной степени.

Keys: the tallest, the largest (Empire State Building), the fastest (lift), the best (view), the most historic (Empire State Building).

Ученики читают предложения с этими прилагательными вслух.)

(Учащиеся называют факты, которые они запомнили. Чтобы помочь ученикам, учитель может записать на доске ключевые слова.)

The building is a teaching block with four big wings of student accommodation. Visitors in Moscow shouldn’t miss the opportunity to enjoy a splendid view of the city from the top of the Moscow State University Building.

IV. Инструктаж по выполнению домашнего задания

— For your homework choose a famous building in our country. Make a factfile, then write a short text about the building.

— Open your workbooks at page 50. Look at the text and pictures. Is it an invitation, a brochure, or a postcard? (It’s a brochure.)

— If there is anything you don’t understand, ask now.

(Учитель записывает домашнее задание на доске, а ученики — в дневниках:

SB: Ex. 5 (р. 81); WB: Ex. 1 (р. 50).

Индивидуальное задание: несколько учеников подбирают фотографии животных Московского зоопарка и готовят краткую справку о них.)
